At DownUnder GeoSolutions we live and die by the performance and cost effectiveness of our IT technology. The faster we can process data, and the more cost effectively we can do it, the more competitive we can be in the global market. Currently we have around 20,000 cores with the most recent procurement being a 42 RU rack of SGI Rackable servers, loaded with AMD’s new Opteron 6200 chips, which equates to up to 2688 cores in one rack.
